Gilda’s Laughfest kicked off its 14th year Wednesday in Grand Rapids. Named for Gilda Radner, a Detroit native and Saturday Night Live original cast member who died from ovarian cancer, Laughfest supports Gilda’s Club in Grand Rapids. It helps those dealing with cancer and grief. Gilda’s Laughfest events manager Zach Berends says events run through Sunday.
“We are just so excited to have over 40 different events happening throughout those five days” Berends said “We call ourselves a festival of laughter because we know not everybody laughs at the same thing, but everybody laughs. So, we have everything from clean comedy to the dirty show, we have kids jokes, we have a symposium that provides continuing education credits.”
Berends says there will be comedy for all ages. You can get more information at FestGR.org.
